Using state-of-the-art technology, Teale developed and deployed a centralized Energy Management Information System (EMIS) that allows the Singapore Zoological Gardens, River Safari, and Water Safari to establish and monitor baselines for the 800 IoT water and power meters installed at the site. A mere first level so-called ‘low hanging fruits’ of ~8% energy savings op- portunities were then identified. This customized EMIS system provides a bird’s eye view of the various multisite equipment to ease the Operation and Maintenance of the Wildlife attraction sites.

Further studies on the facilities involve optimization of the chilled water plant through refrigerant optimization using dedicated measuring equipment to examine the chiller beyond its waterside. The study has proven to increase the efficiency of the chiller plant by 20%, address- ing refrigerant side optimization which remains hidden on the conventional monitoring system.
